social-print
Amy Karp and Tamra Dunlap, co-founders of the new bridal web portal GroomSoldSeparately.com will kick off the web site's recent launch with an Alice in Weddingland-themed Grand Premier Party on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at The Ryan Manor at 6905 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75209 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Proceeds for the event will benefit Brides Against Breast Cancer.

What do LATE, DATE and CANNOT WAIT have in common? The crazy world of planning a wedding, according to the bride portal pioneers, Amy Karp and Tamra Dunlap at GroomSoldSeparately.com. If planning a wedding could be turned into a movie, their pick is Alice in Weddingland. In their eyes it serves as a great metaphor for a bride falling into a spiraling tunnel of craziness for 3 months to a year with all types of characters and unfamiliar things coming her way. It truly is almost like a movie. So, it was in that very spirit that they teamed up with some of the event industry's top suppliers and invited brides to look through their wedding-colored looking glass for the Grand Premier Launch Party.

The team made a casting call and has partnered with The Ryan Manor, The Venue Marketing Group, SaraBeth Events, The Creative Touch Events by Lauren, Design Guide, Texas Wedding Guide, es events, Don Mamone Photography, Lynn Films, Magic Moments Parties and Events, DiFiori, i Entertainment, Campisi's, J Dorian Chocolatier, BreadWinners, Jim Lee Events, Cleverly Invite, Posta Bella, Deanie Michelle Events, Dallas Wedding Planner and Studio Movie Grill for the red carpet premier. The group expects more than 300 brides to walk through the bride-meets-mad-hatter tunnel and into the transformed world. Brides and suppliers may register for the event at www.groomsoldseparately.com/alice.

Event Highlights:

  • An amped up Mad Hatter Tea Party with a 5-foot, multi-tier cake
  • Live Entertainment
  • Costumed wedding-meets-mad-hatter tea party characters
  • Stilt Walkers & Surprise Buffet Treatments
  • A real life bouquet-croquet match with prizes
  • A strolling wedding gown fashion show

  • Cocktails and hors d' oeuvres

"We couldn't think of a better metaphor for what it feels like for our brides in planning their weddings," offers Amy Karp, GroomSoldSeparately.com co-founder. "So we put this event together with that in mind, and it encapsulates the very spirit of what our site brings to our brides - a peace of mind in knowing that there are resources out there to help them make the right wedding decisions. It is further gratification for us that we can celebrate our site's launch and initial success while giving back to our friends at Brides Against Breast Cancer."
